Klangkarussell – ‘Sonnentanz’

One of the year’s big success stories, we play this one non stop at the NTD office. Austrian producers Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held, better known as Klangkarussell have been on an incredible ride since dropping their first single, ‘Sonnentanz‘.

Within a month of it’s release, it gained over 3 million plays on YouTube and Souncloud. From a Beatport hit, Sonnentanz has gone on to become a hit on the German Top 40 for 7 weeks, brushing up against the the likes of Adele and Rihanna.

Minimal house drums lay the foundation for a poppy c-minor chord progression that hovers above. The real magic comes in the form of a jazzy pentatonic vibraphone riff, instantly memorable and definitely one that will echo in your brain for weeks. NTD’s Dan said it best: “This song sounds like a vacation”.

With such a festive feel, it’s no question that Sonnentanz needed a party video to match. Depicting a revelry that looks like it came out of Tumblr. The official video features a star-studded list of cameos including A-Trak, Jared Leto, Louis Brodinski, A$AP Rocky and Steve Aoki. Beautiful people, pools and drinking, pretty much perfect.
